AUTHORS' BACKGROUND
As a writing team, we bring
writing expertise as well as the perspective of a widow and a woman who
has studied the issues. Mary Kimble, Ed.D., has nine years of experience
in personal and educational counseling with adults in educational, faith-based,
and community settings. In her roles as college dean and department head
of educational programs, Dr. Kimble has studied first-hand the challenges
experienced by adult women and the utter unpreparedness they have for facing
life alone. Dr. Kimble is an accomplished curriculum developer, trainer,
and researcher. Her knowledge will be highlighted in the development of
the educational recommendations and suggestions that will be derived from
the research conducted for this book. Her latest research, Seeds of Inequity,
deals with equity issues in schools.
Elaine P. Witty, Ed.D., a long time educator, has published in educational
and popular outlets. She is a noted leader having served as dean of a
school of education for 18 years and department head for nine years. As
an experienced workshop presenter, consultant, and speaker, Dr. Witty
has also held leadership roles in community and faith-based organizations. |
